Therapeutic Antibodies and Beyond

Celebrating 20 Years of Display Technologies

On 6-7 September 2010 a conference was held at St John’s College in Cambridge to mark the 20th anniversary of the development of antibody-phage display*.

Phage display technology revolutionised antibody discovery and shaped the clinical and commercial landscape for biotherapeutics. It also caused some landmark patent disputes between companies developing antibody products. The conference provided an opportunity to hear how phage display and other antibody discovery technologies have shaped the biopharmaceuticals industry. The meeting included platform presentations from many of the people involved in development and commercial exploitation of this technology. In addition many more of the pioneers and innovators from the field were present in the audience, contributing to discussions, debate and celebration.

The meeting was organised by John McCafferty, University of Cambridge and Debbie Allen, Andiamo Biotech, UK. This website provides an archive of photographs, presentations and audio files from this event.
